Chemical User / Refresher Training (AHCSS00074)

TMSA partnered with ASTMA to deliver this course for the first time in Adelaide in June 2025 at the Royal Adelaide Golf Club.  The course was well attended, and the aim is to schedule this regularly throughout the year, depending on demand.

Course Overview

This Skill Set (AHCSS00074) covers the skills and knowledge required to transport, handle, store, prepare and apply chemicals in the role of a Sports Turf Manager.

AgVet Chemical User Certificates have an expiry date. In order to renew your Certificate, you do not need to complete the full course again, you only need to complete an Update/Refresher Course, and it is important to keep your Certificate up to date due to continual changes to chemicals, procedures and standards.

This course consists of the use of general application equipment used across a variety of industries including; boom sprays, handheld spray equipment, chemical applicators, knapsack sprays and others.

These units do not cover the operation of specialised chemical application equipment and machinery or the application of chemicals.

These units apply to individuals who work under broad direction and take responsibility for their work and use discretion and judgement in the selection and use of available resources.

Agriculture Australia recommend a refresher course be completed every 5 years.
